Setting: the setting of this story is the Oriental Plaza in Johannesburg, a shopping centre where the shops are owned by Indian people during apartheid time.
Plot: The silk scarf display the story of rich wife of the man Clive Nebo who is going to be the foreign minister in the new government. Mrs. .Nebo had her companion fried Margaret. The two ladies were on shopping expedition and entered the portals of the plaza. Mrs. Nebo had her two personal bodyguards , followed the ladies. Mrs. Nebo saw a lovely Indian dress and decided to buy it. Mrs Nebo had been looking for a silk scarf that will match her dress from shop to shop until she came to Moghul Boutique and was shown the silk scarf by a short-gaunt looking man that will match the dress perfectly.Mrs. Nebo when she looked into her hand bag she was 15 rands shorter than the scarf cost. The cash was not enough however ,she had a cheque but the man was deal strictly in cash. The two ladies felt humiliated by the man action, she had the money and her bank account was spiraling and they do not understand why the man does not want to accept but Mr Sakur tried to be fair to anyone whether you are rich or not. The two ladies went on throwing ugly words to the man until the nearest shopkeeper heard a dispute and came to convince Mr Sakur to present the silk scarf to the ladies as a gift Mrs.Nebo was very happy after receiving the gift and thanked the traders.
The main character: Mrs. Nebo, the wife of the man who is going to be the foreigner minister in the new government. She was of the medium height with heavy loins, her smooth –skinned completion having been pampered by beauticians. Mrs. Nebo was very rich. She lived in the white suburb of Houghton .She had two personal bodyguard. Mrs. Nebo had Mercedes Benz.
